 All craftsmanship is fully guaranteed against defects in quality or workmanship. We stand by what we sell. Please contact us with any questions you may have. 

We have been fortunate to have a perfect record of customer satisfaction since January of 2010, when Gregg made his first set of knives for commercial sale.

At Salter Fine Cutlery, we always want to be totally transparent about what we offer and what limitations are within our terms of service to you.

If you will bear with us, in this page we will discuss 'the small print".

About Photos:

We never use PhotoShop and do not even know how to do so. We make every effort to display our photos with the true colors you can expect to see when you receive your knives. We use flowers in our photos to help gauge real-to-photo during our photo processing and to help you identify and communicate which photo you like, for example, "the third photo down with a big yellow flower".

Images throughout our site may show single or multiple knives with or without stands, racks, or boxes, wine bottles, watches, and other items. These images are meant to provide examples of the blade styles and finishes available, our decorative handle options, and storage offerings to help inspire your own custom design ideas. We are happy to help you make design selections in a private consultation, if desired.

Prices are for items as defined in product description only and do not include any other items or content. Any combination of our wood and cutlery products are available for custom order. Please contact us if you are unsure of what is included or for assistance with placing an order to replicate products in any specific picture.

Colors may have slight variations due to computer settings, screen resolution, etc. Wood products have natural color and grain variations that make each piece unique. When ordering custom products, please expect some differences from images on our website due to the inherent characteristics of natural materials and hand-woodworking and hand-forging techniques.

Payment Terms:

To summarize here, all 'Quick Gifts' (pre-made stock) purchases are 100% refundable upon receipt if you are not satisfied AND if they are returned to us at your expense in a new, undamaged, and unused condition.

All custom orders are non-refundable. They were created to your own specifications, which means they may be highly customized to your own particular tastes. We take every precaution to minimize any confusion by sending you drawings or detailed descriptions of your custom handle or blade order prior to the completion of your order. You may change your preferences at any time up to the time we begin production. Once production has commenced, it may be impossible to make changes.

If you are not satisfied with your order, we want to be able to help you if we can, but be aware, we are not responsible if you change your mind between the time we started production and the time you receive your order. 

ALL custom orders require a deposit at the time of your order. Deposits for all custom orders are non-refundable after the Order Review process is complete. 

Deposits are equal to 50% of the total sales price. For orders which will be completed within 30 days, we will request payment in full at the time of your order.

All orders must be paid in full upon completion of your order and prior to shipping. If custom engraving has been ordered for either knives or box, final payment in full is required prior to engraving.

Sorry, there are no exceptions to this policy. Please do not ask. 

Credit:

Sorry, we do not extend credit for either retail or wholesale shop purchases. All items must be paid in full prior to shipping.

We do offer easy payment options for those wishing to purchase and pay over an extended time period, you may use our layaway plan. Pay a small initial deposit of 10% of the total order, then pay as much as you want, whenever you want until your order is paid in full. We will place your order into our production queue and order special blades if needed once we have received the equivalent of a 50% deposit. 

On layaway purchases, we ask that all orders be completed within the same calendar year. If you cannot complete your purchase within the same calendar year, we will assess a $25 administrative fee when the balance due is rolled into the next calendar year.

Liability:

Unless you are buying boxes or some other wood only product, you are most likely purchasing knives. They are sharp. We will not be responsible for any liability whatsoever once the product has left our shop. It is then yours and your sole responsibility to use with care and to keep out of the reach of children. 

Any and all complaints or actions will be subject to the laws in Hawaii.

Our Rights, Obligations, and Privacy Policy:

We respect the privacy of our clients and will never publish names of our clients or quotes without your written consent.

Any images of our products taken prior to being shipped are our sole property and we may use those images freely at our own discretion. If images of our knives are found anywhere on the internet being used, for example, in a restaurant, we reserve the right to mention that we made the product and use the image which is in the public domain on our web site or social media as desired. 

We will NEVER use any image to cast any negative light on them. We promise we will only use an image to say we are 'proud to have our products featured at' or something similar. 

Service:

We will always service what we sell.

We provide sharpening, repair and handle refreshing or box renewing services if requested. We do not offer free shipping for any of these services, but will pay return shipping if there was damage covered by your lifetime limited warranty.

Warranty:

All products sold by Salter Fine Cutlery are protected by a lifetime limited warranty to the original owner. If the original owner has purchased the knife or knife set with the intention of gifting it, we will extend that same warranty to the recipient. Be sure to inform us that your purchase will be gifted when ordering.

No warranty is made or offered for any product not sold by us to you. Neither is any warranty offered on any product sold by any third party on any web site. Be especially wary of fraud or misrepresentation of any product sold on platforms such as Amazon, Etsy, or E-Bay using our name. We do NOT sell our products on any of these platforms and do NOT authorize any person to act for Salter Fine Cutlery. If you have questions, contact us to be sure your product is covered by our warranty prior to purchase. In other words, in this case, buyer beware.
