155mm collectible belt-carry knife with patriotic 250th anniversary handle
A favorite personal choice of Gregg Salter, owner-artist of SalterFineCutlery, this collectible belt-carry knife is so unique, that any knife enthusiast will absolutely enjoy owning one.
It is superbly made by our traditional Japanese bladesmith. With a 155mm (approx 6") blade length, it is a perfect addition for anyone who loves to wear a knife or for any collector. Plus, for the collector, the unique pattern and bevels are beautifully displayed in a SalterFineCutlery keepsake or presentation box.
Completely handmade. The blade has been hand-forged using traditional Japanese forging methods to make both the billet and the finished blade in Japan by an 8th generation knife-making family. Each blade a work of highly functional art!
The knife and finish was designed by and made exclusively for Salter Fine Cutlery. You will not find it elsewhere!
Each handle is custom created in Hawaii by Gregg Salter of Salter Fine Cutlery to your own custom requests. Our handles are designed and handcrafted to create a knife fun to hold and very functionable!
This knife was a special consignment as a patriotic display piece with a nod to our nation's 250th birthday.
The handle has been made from rare 5A grade Hawaiian curly koa wood with a long Mozambique ebony (aka African blackwood) bolster. Red, white and blue accents plus star patterned mosaic pins create a subtle, yet very noticable patriotic feeling to the knife.
Gregg added hand file-work around the entire tang, which took over three days of hand-filing.
This unique pattern features our 'Raptor' hand-hammered design (named for our country's famed bald eagle). The design is meant to show claw marks combined with rivers of damascus, and feature bevels in the surface area of the blade. Truly a work of art.
A custom handcrafted leather sheath was requested with a solid front with embossed Salter logo, white edge stitching and pigskin leather interior and belt backing.
