Standing Box/Butsudan

This Japanese style butsudan box was a custom order created by hand to our client's personal wishes from Hawaiian koa wood.

The sides, bottom stand section and top ornamental section were all constructed from 2A grade curly koa wood. The door was made from upgrade 4 and 5A very rare curly Hawaiian koa wood.

The box was made to hold a specific family memento. Therefore the inside dimensions had to be made to exact specifications. 

Our client requested a single opening door instead of a split door as her choice for this box.

• Inside Dimensions: 20" tall x 10.5" wide x 6" deep
• Walls: 3/4" thick
• Bottom Base Height: 1-1/2"
• Single swing open door
• Hinged on right side
• Small brass knob on left side
• Magnetic catch

Every box handcrafted in Hawaii using old-fashioned woodworking techniques. No large machinery or CNC machines are used at all.

All of our wood is kiln-dried and recycled wood and our shop uses natural light. In short, our products are all eco-friendly.
